Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will work closely with other team members to maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, basic electrical, rail cars, silos, pumps, PMs on compressors, etc.)
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repairs as needed
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and infrastructure
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and PM documentation
- Assist with contractor oversight and coordination when required
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors when needed
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in facilities or building maintenance
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Mechanical aptitude with experience on pumps, compressors, and motors
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working around rail cars, silos, or bulk material systems
- OSHA safety training
- CMMS experience
- Welding or fabrication skills (a plus)
