Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning according to recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in assembling dishes during service, ensuring timely and accurate presentation
- Follow food safety standards in handling, storage, and sanitation practices to maintain a safe kitchen environment
- Support the culinary team with food preparation tasks for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or catering events
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations and equipment throughout shifts to promote efficiency and safety
- Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs
- Adhere to safety standards in production, including proper knife skills and slicing techniques to prevent accidents
Skills
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or food industry roles preferred
- Strong understanding of food handling, safety standards, and food safety management practices
- Skilled in meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation
- Proficient with knife skills and slicing techniques for efficient prep work
- Experience with menu planning and catering support is advantageous
