Position Overview
A well-established community healthcare organization is seeking a dedicated Optometrist to join its growing team. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive eye care services in an outpatient clinical setting while working alongside a multidisciplinary healthcare team committed to improving patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations to evaluate vision, eye health, and visual function.
- Diagnose and manage eye diseases, disorders, and vision-related conditions within the scope of optometric practice.
- Prescribe and fit eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical findings.
- Provide patient education regarding eye health, preventive care, and treatment options.
- Document patient encounters accurately using Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Review diagnostic tests, referrals, and consultative reports to ensure continuity of care.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers when appropriate.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and interdisciplinary team meetings.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited Optometry program.
- Active California Optometry License.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems.
- Strong clinical, communication, and patient care skills.
