Position Purpose
Account Managers are primarily responsible for servicing policies (new and renewal) for commercial customers, while creating and maintaining strong relationships with customers, underwriters and other professionals.
Responsibilities
- Understand clients' daily operations and core exposures.
- Respond to customer inquiries, including coverage questions and documentation requests, under Account Executive (AE) direction.
- Follow up with underwriters for quotes and respond to their requests.
- Produce binders for new accounts and create bind/order instructions for carriers.
- Provide CSRs with clear processing instructions as needed.
- Address CSR and client questions; resolve audit disputes.
- Ensure timely payment of agency-billed invoices; request cancellations per company policy.
- Collect and assist in completing applications and underwriting info for new/renewal marketing.
- Complete required sections of the Commercial Lines Checklist.
- Add Master COIs and EPIs when writing new accounts.
- Prepare renewal summaries, proposals, and new business submissions.
- Meet monthly with AE to review marketing strategies.
- Provide technical insurance guidance with minimal oversight.
- Visit clients as a proxy for the AE when needed.
- Support account rounding and upselling opportunities.
- Manage large, complex accounts independently.
- Analyze coverage thoroughly and make recommendations.
- Maintain CE credits and active licensing.
Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven experience selling.
- Strong customer service skills and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
