What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aquatic Specialist position at City of Winchester?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides support to the Aquatics Coordinator to plan, develop, and implement internal and external schedules
- Supervises aquatics-related instruction, recreational, fitness, and therapeutic classes, programs, recreation center activities, and special events
- Organizes the administrative tasks for the aquatics division and works collectively with the Coordinator to develop each pool schedule in a timely manner
- Displays excellent customer service skills, establishes and maintains effective working relationships with City employees, deck managers, aquatic staff, instructors, and all members of the public
- Enforces rules and policies
- Supervises, supports, and empowers deck managers and part-time aquatic staff
- Coordinates and assists with the organization and implementation of group and private swim lessons in a coordinated effort with the Swim Lessons Program Manager
- Other duties as assigned
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to an associate’s degree in parks and recreation, health and physical education, or a related field and some related experience
- Valid driver's license
- Must have or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire:
- American Read Cross CPR for the Profession Rescuer
- Lifeguard
- Water Safety Instructor
- Lifeguard Instructor
- Aquatic Facility Operator (or equivalent)
Salary : $39,790 - $48,526
