Description
This is a part-time, temporary position with an assignment length that may vary depending on departmental needs. The position is not expected to exceed six months and may conclude at any time.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Provides administrative support and assists internal team members with completing department tasks and projects.
- File documents, reports, and correspondence for the department; maintain filing system and records.
- Prepare, type, and proofread a variety of documents including general correspondence and reports.
- Process requests for departmental information from the public or local, state or federal agencies in the form of reports, correspondence, etc.
- Accurately input and retrieve data and text.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Knowledge of:
- Operations, services and activities of assigned department.
- General knowledge of City policies, procedures, services and activities.
- Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations.
- Basic principles and procedures of record keeping.
- Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment.
- Operational characteristics of modern office equipment and tools including a computer.
- Occupational hazards and standard safety practices.
Ability to:
- Operate a variety of modern office equipment including copiers, mail machines, facsimile machines, and computers, in a safe and effective manner.
- Enter data with quality and efficiency.
- Maintain an efficient records management system.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Requirements
Education, Training and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- One (1) year of related experience.
Special Requirements:
- Position requires regular in-person attendance which may include varying hours.
