NATURE OF POSITION
Plan, program, and facilitate the pottery retail sales within the bisque prep environment. The primary focus is delivering an exceptional customer artistic experience through calm, courteous, and respectful guidance at all times. This position requires the ability to manage multiple simultaneous activities and customer interactions while maintaining composure and prioritizing a safe, welcoming environment. Extensive customer service is essential throughout all participant interactions. Weekend and evening availability is required.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
General direction and oversight is provided by the Recreation Supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Sitting and standing for extended periods of time; seeing, hearing, and speaking to exchange information; intermittently stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend at the waist and lift heavy objects; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment; carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment; perform heavy physical labor at times (moving pottery).
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Indoor environment: climate controlled.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Have a background completed; Possess a valid driver’s license.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual in Spanish; CPR and First Aid Certified.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintain professional manner and appearance while wearing a provided uniform; Pottery Studio Apron.
- Cashier and assist with accounting for fees collected.
- Maintain excellent communication with all staff and customers through verbal and written means.
- Assist in recreational office tasks; answer phones, make copies, take program registrations, and help provide support where needed.
- Act as an ambassador to urban parks and downtown area. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with a range of partners, area businesses, residents, and visitors.
- Interact and develop rapport with visitors. Listen to questions, suggestions, and concerns, as to share that information with appropriate staff.
- Recognize and respond to safety and security issues. Notify police and/or emergency services as dictated by the situation.
- Clean and sanitize tables and chairs, pick up litter, move tables and chairs as required; inspect and observe amenities inside and outside of the pottery studio and notify appropriate personnel of safety hazards and repair needs.
