Public Works Operations and Maintenance seeks qualified candidates to fill one Engineer IV position within the Construction and Engineering Bureau of Public Works Operations. The selected candidate will manage a group of professional and technical staff responsible for various stormwater infrastructure maintenance and repair programs and projects with a focus on stormwater pump stations, flood control structures, and pipe repairs. This position offers a unique opportunity to represent Public Work Operations and Maintenance as the Department ushers in a new era of stormwater management, flood protection, and asset management.
Duties:
Performs a variety of engineering duties of a complex nature which may include any combination of program and project management, infrastructure maintenance and repair assessment, development and review of plans and specifications, project coordination, and management support for operation and maintenance of public facilities.
Manage a section of an operations and maintenance engineering bureau which includes personnel management and development, budget planning and management, and general staff support to provide a thriving and productive environment.
Provide comprehensive engineering and management support in all areas of engineering for the development of capital projects such as those that appear in the City’s six-year capital improvement program (CIP), including cost estimates, and related items for the City to budget for its capital improvement projects.
Manage professional design services and construction services contracts.
Maintain program and project records and prepare various reports on schedules and budgets.
Provide professional responses to citizen inquiries.
