What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineer III position at City of Virginia Beach?
The Department of Public Works is currently looking for an Engineer II/III to join our team.
This position may be filled as either an Engineer II or Engineer III depending on the qualifications of the selected applicant. The associated pay grades and ranges are as follows:
Engineer II (A14 $69,298.32 - $107,412.40)
Engineer III (A.17 $80,221.47 - $124,343.28)
The selected candidate will perform a variety of complex engineering duties, including:
Program management for the Stormwater Operations and Maintenance bureaus
Infrastructure maintenance
Repair assessment
Development and review of plans and specifications
Project coordination
Management support for the operation and maintenance of public facilities.
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and system monitoring
Provide comprehensive engineering and management support in all areas of engineering for the development of capital projects, such as those that appear in the City’s six-year capital improvement program (CIP), and operating budget funds, to include cost estimates and related items for the City to budget for its capital improvement projects.
Manage contracts and work orders
Maintain program and project records and prepare various reports on schedules and budgets.
Provide professional responses to citizen inquiries.
