Description:
- Operates a truck and trailer to transport equipment and materials.
- Operates a truck and trailer, read-end loader, or other equipment along a predetermined route to collect refuse.
- Operates a tractor with bush hog and other grounds maintenance equipment to mow grass on city rights-of-way, in the city cemetery, and on other city properties.
- Operates hand and power tools in the performance of ground maintenance duties.
- Plans and prunes trees and shrubs.
- Operates a backhoe and dump truck to close and open graves in the cemetery.
- Maintains radio contact with dispatchers to send and receive information.
- Maintains assigned vehicles and equipment; performs pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Assists in traffic control at work sites.
- Performs related duties.
- Knowledge of the techniques, equipment, and supplies used in grounds and cemetery maintenance.
- Knowledge of city and departmental safety policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of the geography of the city, including street names and locations.
- Skill in the operation of assigned vehicles, trucks and light equipment.
