A key member of the Parks and Recreation team, this position plays an essential role in the daily operations of the City’s Community Center. Reporting directly to the Community Center Manager, the role oversees day-to-day facility management, including scheduling, staff training, and supervision of employees and contractors. This position ensures a safe, welcoming environment by enforcing facility policies and supporting positive visitor experiences. This role coordinates supplies, maintenance, cleaning, and repair needs, supports customer service operations, and oversees the Community Center’s child watch area. The position also participates in the Manager-on-Duty rotation, which includes closing shifts on Monday and Tuesday evenings and occasional weekend coverage.

- Assist in the supervision of part-time staff; interviews applicants; recommends hiring, discipline and termination; leads, motivates, collaborates, empowers, rewards, coaches and celebrates employees; assists with employee training program; appraises and evaluates performance; addresses and solves problems; assists with staff trainings; attends meetings.
- Identifies recreation facility, services and customer service trends, needs and opportunities; works cooperatively withprogramstafftoschedulethefacilityforthemaximumbenefitofthecommunity;workswithevent staff to coordinate facility rentals; enforcesrulesofconduct;implementspoliciesandproceduresforfacility operations and provisions of service; makes recommendations for change and improvements as required to meet public needs; provides support for recreation software.
- Coordinates with custodial and maintenance services in support of quality guest experiences; evaluates performance of contractors and vendors; reviews and evaluates services; oversees material and supply inventory and replenishes as necessary.
- Maintains inventory of building supplies and equipment; ensures sufficient stock is available for daily operations; oversees purchasing and restocking of supplies; distributes materials to appropriate departments or personnel as needed; tracks supply usage and coordinates with vendors to maintain efficient supply levels.
- Works with Community Center Manager on the implementation of goals and policy; monitors performance metrics; monitors expenditures; submits and delivers reports.
- Ensures facility operations are conducted in accordance with established rules, policies, and procedures; monitors patron behavior and enforces compliance; addresses and resolves operational or behavioral issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Assists with the promotion and public awareness of the community center, programs, events and services in the community including publicity and social media.
- Develops networks with other professional, community groups; attends conferences, seminars, and related courses; participates in professional organizations.
- Serves as liaison between citizen work groups and participants for a variety of programs and events; prepares reports and other documentation as assigned.
- Maintains licenses and certifications as required, if any.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable OSHA safety standards that pertain to essential functions.

Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school and one (1) to two (2) years progressively responsible related experience; or any combination of training, education, or experience which provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
CPR certification; First Aid certification; valid State of Ohio Driver’s License and the ability to maintain insurability under the City’s vehicle insurance policy.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: (*indicates developed after employment).
