This is professional, technical and analytical work involving the research, analysis and design of moderately complex Geographic Information Systems and other highly technical software. Work involves support of all GIS-related data conversion activities, and the creation, management and analysis of spatial data with land-based GIS applications and data sets. Work includes administrating GIS systems to include GeoMedia, ESRI ArcGIS; writing code in one or more programming languages to deliver customized web-based mapping and in response to user requests for program modifications; and training staff in the use of complex automated interactive graphics systems.

To Qualify
Minimum Qualifications. Applicants must:
- Have a valid Bachelor’s degree.
- Possess and maintain valid Driver License.
- Have at least three (3) years of relevant, significant experience in a professional setting analyzing GIS and providing technical support.
- Have considerable knowledge of GIS related programming languages, including ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, SQL for Oracle, Python, PowerShell scripts, and Windows Scheduled Tasks.
- Have three (3) to five (5) years of experience of programming in a GIS environment and knowledge of Windows Server and IIS, ArcGIS (Server, SDE, and Desktop), Autodesk AutoCAD, Intergraph, C /C#, VB.NET, Java, JavaScript, and PHP.
- Have some knowledge of modern GIS methods and techniques as applied to the design, analysis, and maintenance of systems.
- Be able to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
- Acknowledge this position is designated as Emergency Critical (EC) and if hired into the position, you must be immediately available to the department before, during, and after a declared emergency and/or disaster.
Desirable Qualifications. Preferred applicants:
- Have a Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) certification.
- Have experience in the development and implementation of user training.
- Are able to use map scales, map projections, coordinate systems and datums, information systems including data bases, operating systems, and application development tools.
- Have experience as an administrator of a GIS/geodatabase and related application servers.
- Have basic skills in programming such as flow-charting, object-oriented design, and debugging code.
- Are able to troubleshoot and correct application errors and data integrity issues.
