Job Description

A Part Time Van Dispatcher oversees senior van scheduling, routing and dispatching duties; operates a variety of communication equipment, including two-way radio, telephone, computer mobile dispatch terminal and scheduling systems; creates, maintains and monitors computerized driver schedules; and responds to requests for service.

Essential Job Functions

A Part Time Van Dispatcher may be called upon to do any or all of the following: (These examples do not include all of the tasks which the employee may be expected to perform.)

• Receive calls from residents to schedule rides
• Monitors voicemail for calls received throughout the day and after hours
• Provide information to new residents interested in the ride program
• Organize a monthly schedule of drivers, buses, and holidays
• Maintain a client list of their preferences and/or accommodations on transportation software
• Create daily schedules in the transportation software based on the request spreadsheet and transmit to driver iPad.
• Schedule those clients with appointment times appropriately in transportation software.
• Maintain files of weekly and monthly reports
• Enter data into SMART weekly and monthly reports
• Enjoy working with and assisting senior citizens
• Maintain addresses and hours of certain popular location requests in transportation software
• Work with the Senior Center Coordinator for any special events requests
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

KSA

A Part Time Van Dispatcher, upon application, shall have the following training and experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• A valid Michigan chauffeur’s license
• Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience as a Dispatcher
