Assess population served, teach classes, share relevant wellness information, and coordinate services with others on the wellness team. Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assesses and monitors the physical condition of the population to be served.
2. Teaches classes and/or supervises and monitors exercise programs based on established protocol to ensure safety.
3. Disseminate educational materials to participants as appropriate.
4. Provides member service through interaction with members regularly

Typical Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or GED is the standard entry-level requirement. Earning a certification from a reputable organization demonstrates your knowledge and skills in fitness instruction

Positions in this class typically require:

• Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Talking, Hearing, Seeing and Repetitive Motions.
• Able to move equipment, which may include pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Able to stand for eight (8) hours at a time (be on your feet).
• Able to work in a considerably noisy environment.
• Must have full use of arms and legs to operate equipment and to climb stairs and have bimanual dexterity (full use of both arms and both hands).
• Able to work outside during the warm and cold months.
• Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Must have eyesight of at least 20/30 with or without correction.
• Must be able to hear at least 40 decibels in an environment producing 500 – 4000 hertz.

Physical Requirements:

Light Work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount force constantly to move objects.

Working Conditions:

Subject to outside environmental conditions or extreme heat.
