Duties & Responsibilities:

Works with all City Departments to facilitate procurement of necessary goods and services. Reviews quotes, issues/reviews formal bids and RFPs, and participates in purchasing related meetings as required

Coordinates with departments to update specifications and create bid or RFP packages. Including ensuring compliance with all required rules and regulations

Receives and reviews quotations to determine completeness, verifying sources, contacting other potential vendors, and determining need for contract and insurance documentation

Provides guidance on reviewing bids and proposals and ensuring recommendations are substantiated

Serves as point of contact for issuing purchase orders, making edits/corrections to existing purchase orders and requisitions, user authorizations and general questions they may have with the purchasing and requisition modules
- Provides back up to the Senior Administrative Officer II in Finance.
Requirements:
-
Associate’s degree with major work in accounting or business administration and considerable experience in purchasing principles, practices and/or ordinances, rules and regulations governing municipal procurement or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Familiarity with competitive bidding processes and contract management.

Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy in documentation

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

High ethical standards and commitment to transparency and accountability in public service
- Must possess a valid Class C Driver's license, have and maintain a good driving record and have access to a vehicle for work.
Desired Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in public procurement or equivalent education in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management or related field.
Expected Hours/Schedule:
General hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. M-F. This position is eligible for some remote work and potential alternate work hours.

Salary & Benefits:
This is a non-union position (Grade B25) - Starting salary range of: $29.58/hour - $32.32/hour, based on experience.
