Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Agent to join our team in Scarborough, Maine. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing all materials and components required for our mechanical installations, including boilers, heat pumps, piping, and plumbing supplies. You will support the daily needs of 4 project managers overseeing up to 8 active projects, ensuring timely procurement, cost efficiency, and vendor management. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure materials and components for mechanical projects, including boilers, heat pumps, piping, plumbing fixtures, and related parts.
- Obtain multiple quotes from vendors to ensure competitive pricing and value for money.
- Manage daily procurement requests from 4 project managers, prioritizing needs for up to 8 ongoing projects to avoid delays.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to negotiate favorable terms, discounts, and delivery schedules.
- Track inventory levels, forecast material needs based on project timelines, and coordinate deliveries to job sites.
- Ensure all purchases comply with company standards, quality requirements, and any relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers and installation teams to resolve any procurement-related issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor performance using procurement software or systems.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the mechanical, HVAC, or construction industry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge, with hands-on experience in boilers, heat pumps, piping, plumbing, or related fields a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a similar role.
