Rate And Compensation
The successful candidate may be offered a position in either the Chemical Application Technician I or the Chemical Application Technician II classification.
The target hourly rate for the Chemical Application Technician I is between $19.75 - $23.70; depending on qualifications
The target hourly rate for the Chemical Application Technician II is between $20.74 - $24.89; depending on qualifications

What You’ll Do
- Apply herbicides, fertilizers, and pesticides using specialized application equipment
- Assist in maintaining healthy parks, athletic fields, rights-of-way, and landscaped areas throughout the City
- Calibrate and maintain advanced application equipment
- Follow all State and Federal safety regulations for chemical handling and application
- Maintain accurate application and inventory records required by law
- Support additional grounds maintenance projects as needed
- Utilize asset management systems to document work activities
- Knowledge of pest identification and effective control methods
- Understanding of pesticide application techniques, mixtures, and calibration
- Commitment to workplace and public safety
- Ability to read and follow product labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping skills
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Work outdoors and make a visible impact in the community
