Join the City of Plano Building Inspections Department and play a key role in shaping the future of our community as a Plans Examiner. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of several high profile and innovative construction projects that will define the city’s growth. The City of Plano Building Inspections Department will be receiving several high profile and exciting new construction projects for review. As a Commercial Plans Examiner, you will review plans, provide comments, and collaborate with developers and contractors to move projects toward approval and construction. This role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to analyze complex plans, identify code issues, and research solutions that help advance projects efficiently.
The Building Inspections Department supports professional growth and will cover the cost of required certifications upon successful completion. This position also offers flexible scheduling options, including four ten-hour workdays, a four day schedule with one half day, or a traditional five day workweek.
