seeking a qualified individual to fill the Parking Control Officer
position. This position plays a vital role in keeping Pittsfield safe
and accessible by enforcing parking regulations and engaging with the
public.You\'ll be on the move throughout the City, helping to ensure
compliance with parking rules, maintaining parking kiosks, and using
modern technology like handheld ticketing devices and license plate

parking areas (on and off streets, lots, garages, etc.) to monitor and
enforce parking regulations. - Works within established routes, which
may be changed from time to time by the Commissioner of Public Services
and/or the Parking Superintendent. - Use handheld electronic devices (or
handwritten method if technology is not available) to issue tickets.
(Information entered must be legible, accurate and complete if
handwritten.) - Use a handheld camera to record violations. - Operates
the License Plate Reader (LPR) system to detect violations and take
pictures of violations for use in proceedings. - Installs and uninstalls
wheel locking device \"boot\" as required. - Maintains and inspects
parking kiosks for proper function. - Maintains clear radio
communication with department and police personnel when necessary. -
Performs other duties as assigned or required. QUALIFICATIONS - High
school diploma or GED. - Valid driver\'s license. - One to three years
of customer service experience or similar role involving public
interaction. - May be required to submit a copy of a Registry Report
showing a clean driving record. - Basic computer skills, including the
ability to operate electronic ticketing and LPR systems. - Strong
attention to detail and ability to work independently for extended
periods. - Must communicate with the public in a professional and
courteous manner. - Additional training or classes in customer service,
customer relations, or law enforcement preferred. HOURS Monday - Friday,
40 hours per week 7:30am - 4:00pm SALARY: Starting rate \$16.60 -\$17.52
per hour Annual increases up to \$22.98 per hour
