- Loads a solid waste/recycling truck, collects refuse (i.e., household, bulk or recycling) and empties containers on designated City routes.
- Carries, lifts, and loads solid waste (weighing between 75 to 100 lbs.) into truck daily.
- Replaces refuse containers and lids; ensures that surrounding areas are clean of debris.
- Maintains accurate records on equipment and refuse/recycling routes.
- Cleans and maintains cab area of truck, ejection blade(s) and sweep blade(s).
- Observes proper safety precautions and policies.
- Receives complaints/requests from residents and refers them to assigned Foreman/Refuse Collection Supervisor.
- Assists driver with the safe operation of the vehicle (i.e., assists the driver backing up vehicle, assists in narrow areas).
- Performs activities and functions of related personnel and other related tasks/duties as assigned or required.
