What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT Pooled Aquatics (Recreation Coordinator) position at City of Pasadena, TX?
Duties: The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for assisting with program creation, registration and entry. The position also assists with coordinating rentals; special events and the collection of all fees associated with rentals and programs as well as serving the general public. The Recreation Coordinator position is a part-time year-round position with the City of Pasadena Parks & Recreation Department. This position is responsible for assisting with managing and overseeing all Aquatics programs, rentals, and Aquatics Special Events. The position will serve as the primary customer service representative for programming and rentals, assisting the general public. This position requires in-depth communications, customer service skills, cash handling skills, and general recreation software skills. Manage Daily Operations: Understand the importance of daily operations and ensure all party room check-ins, reservations, cleaning, program registration and cash handling procedures are completed. Oversees the planning and creation of Aquatic Special Events, ensuring each event is staffed, supplied and communicated to the team and general public. Customer Satisfaction: Display customer service with greetings, surveys and acknowledgments. Handle customer concerns promptly and provide feedback to ensure customer satisfaction. Ensure all staff is giving the same customer service. Discipline: First understand the City of Pasadena's Corrective Action Method: Provide coaching to help employees understand their job requirements and meet their job expectations. Document all actions of the employee and of yourself as the pool manager to maintain accurate records of every account when dealing with discipline. Follow the city's guidelines of Coaching, Performance Counseling, Informal Reminders, Formal Reminders, and Performance Improvement Plans and if all else fails Termination. Documentation: Keep files, reports, employee time sheets, daily checklists, registration information, reservation information, etc... completed and organized. Be thorough with all documents and ensure they are completed and entered into the appropriate software following procedures so as to be easily accessible for the Aquatics Manager. Required Work Days/Times/Hours: The Recreation Coordinators hours will vary depending on the Aquatics season. The position may be asked to cover shifts at City Pools and may be required to work as late as 9pm. ALL manager meetings and staff trainings with the exception of in-services are mandatory. Must have an maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements. Works the assigned schedule and complies with the City's timekeeping and attendance policy.
Qualifications: CPR with AED, First Aid, and Water Safety Instructor. PREFERRED: Certified Pool Operator (CPO).
