What are the responsibilities and job description for the PT Pooled Aquatics (Assistant Pool Manager) position at City of Pasadena, TX?
Duties: Assist the Pool Manager with swimming pool operations and ensure safety, cleanliness and quality customer service for all City of Pasadena citizens and its guests. Manage pool staff: managers-in-training, cashiers, swim lesson instructors, lifeguards and guests of the facility ensuring the safety of each. The Assistant Pool Manager position is a seasonal position with the City of Pasadena Parks & Recreation Department. Manage Daily Operations: Understand the importance of daily operations and ensure all chemical, cleaning, daily-log sheets, lifeguard duties and cashier duties are completed. Assist staff with daily operations as needed and ensure tasks a re completed to the standard of the Recreation Manager. Customer Satisfaction: Display customer service with greetings, surveys, and acknowledgments. Handle customer concerns promptly and provide feedback to ensure customer satisfaction. Ensure all staff is giving the same customer service. In-Service Trainings: Attend and actively participate in ALL In-Service Trainings. Assist with leading in-service training weekly and follow schedule provide by the Aquatics Office. Ensure the quality of the skills of each lifeguard is at the City of Pasadena Aquatics standards and above. Recognize skills that are not to standard and provide assistant for the lifeguards to ensure their skills and knowledge are at a level of satisfaction and are capable of performing patron surveillance. Discipline: First understand the City of Pasadena's Corrective Action Method: Provide coaching to help employees understand their job requirements and meet their job expectations. Document all actions of the employee and of yourself as the pool manager to maintain accurate records of every account when dealing with discipline. Follow the city's guidelines of Coaching, Performance Counseling, Informal Reminders, Formal Reminders, and Performance Improvement Plans and if all else fails Termination. Documentation: Keep files, reports, employee time sheets, chemical-log sheets, daily checklist, in-service sign-in sheets, etc...completed and organized. Be thorough with all documents and ensure they are completed entered into HydroApps software so easily accessible for Aquatics Recreation Manager. Required Work Days/Times/Hours: Assistant Pool Managers hours will vary depending on the pool. Assistant managers may be asked to cover shifts at other City pools and may be required to work as late as 9pm. ALL In-Service Trainings and manager meetings are mandatory. Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and/or job requirements. Work the assigned schedule and comply with City timekeeping and attendance policy. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications: American Red Cross in Lifeguard Instructor, American Red Cross in Lifeguarding, CPR with AED, First Aid, blood borne pathogens (can obtain through the City of Pasadena prior to hire).
