What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Events Tech I position at City of North Myrtle Beach?
- Under general supervision, performs installation, maintenance, and repair of City amenities and facilities associated with Parks and Recreation Special Events and public grounds.
- Variable, forty hour per week work schedule accommodates weekend, night, and as-needed timing of special event activities of the Parks and Recreation Department which are generally conducted outside normal working hours.
- Performs general and skilled labor as necessary. Reports to the Special Events Crew Leader.
- High school graduate (or GED equivalent) and/or vocation or technical school training in electrical, plumbing, welding, or carpentry discipline or demonstrated ability to obtain such.
- One to two years of progressively responsible experience or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must have a valid S.C. driver's license.
- Prior experience in the area of special events is highly preferred.
- Flexible schedule and attitude are a must.
- Must be physically able to operate heavy and light equipment, carpentry, masonry and asphalt tools, and numerous other small implements.
- Must be able to exert in excess of one hundred pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of fifty pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of twenty pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Must be able to lift and/or carry weights of ten to one hundred pounds.
Salary : $39,000
