Position Summary

The Anti-Trafficking Specialist will be responsible for providing advocacy, direct services, and case management to victims and survivors of human trafficking. The Specialist will network and provide outreach to system professionals as well as to the community; and conduct administrative tasks such as record-keeping and report writing of client services and data. This position must work well independently and with teams, while providing excellent, respectful, and confidential customer service and victim-centric skills. The Specialist will build relationships with various service provider agencies and advance efforts of the Treasure Valley Human Trafficking Task Force. This includes but is not limited to, partner development and collaboration, training efforts, provision of services, and more.

Essential Functions

  • Position entails working directly with clients who have experienced trauma and human trafficking.
  • Provides direct services and case management to victims and survivors of human trafficking.
  • May include but is not limited to crisis intervention, support, safety planning, and obtaining or making referrals to those who can help them obtain appropriate legal, shelter, employment, education, transportation, financial assistance, counseling, medical and/or mental health

services, and other services based on victims’ identified needs and established goals.

  • Can provide mobile advocacy as needed.
  • Oversee and maintain confidential client records.
  • Provide bi-monthly updates to Human Trafficking Task Force Manager.
  • Educates clients about resources and services that are available and helps them apply for those services.
  • Connects and builds working relationships with other victim service providers in the service area.
  • Strives to identify options to sustain the highest level of independence that is safe for each client.
  • Inputs client data in the data tracking system.
  • Assists with administrative duties as needed, to include quarterly grant reporting.
  • Conduct outreach presentations to community members and professionals to raise awareness about human trafficking and available services for human trafficking victims.
  • Provide cross-cultural training for law enforcement, victim assistance agencies, hospitals, schools, government agencies, and more.
  • Knows and adheres to safety protocols for emergencies.
  • Assists in developing, monitoring, and evaluating progress towards program/grant goals and objectives.
  • Attends and participates in ongoing training opportunities directly related to the position as they are made available.
  • Attends Treasure Valley Human Trafficking Task Force Meetings and assists with the functions of victim services within the task force.
  • Maintains ongoing interaction with supervisor, including articulation of any questions or concerns.
  • Ensures that all services are maintained following the agency’s mission and goals.
  • Adheres to all NFJC policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and Human Trafficking Task Force Manager.

Required Education, Experience, & License/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
  • 3 years’ experience preferred and/or any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.
  • Experience in victim service provision preferred.

  • Ability to efficiently operate a personal computer using standard or customized software applications appropriate to assigned tasks and the ability and willingness to quickly learn and use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing information and/or technology.
  • All applicants must be able to successfully pass City of Nampa background check processes and drug testing, which may include reference checks, criminal history checks, driving record checks, and pre-employment, random, and post-accident drug tests.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions.
  • This position may include mobile advocacy, so individual may perform work outside the office environment.
