GENERAL SUMMARY
Salary: $70,605.12 min to $83,287.53 mid-point annually (Depending on Qualifications)
To oversee the Youth Services Program and supervise, assign, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for providing youth programs within the community; and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

SUPERVISION
General supervision is provided by the Director of Housing and Community Services. Responsible for supervision of the Youth Services Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Behavior outlined in Chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for providing youth services programing including the Youth Council, Youth Advisory Board, Youth Internship Program, Youth Volunteer Program, alternative entertainment activities and other related services within the youth program. Provide timely, accurate and thorough Performance Reviews for supervised employees.
- Network with school districts, social service agencies, police, business community, community organizations and recreation staff; attend meetings to set goals and objectives for the youth program.
- Develop a strategic plan to address youth issues in the community through surveys, interviews and other methods of gaining community insight on program needs.
- Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; establish schedules and methods for providing youth programs; implement policies and procedures.
- Participate in the preparation and administration of the youth program annual budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures.
- Promote and coordinate specific activities within the youth program; prepare program event and facility marketing material including news releases, flyers, event schedules, pamphlets and brochures.
- Organize, schedule, and implement youth activities such as dances, counseling, alternative recreation programs and other related programs.
- Conduct grant research, grant writing, and fundraising for youth programs and events.
- Monitor program compliance with laws, rules and regulations related to provision of youth activities and related services.
- Monitor and report on youth related programs and issues to City Council and Youth Advisory Board.
- Schedule usage of youth program facilities for activities including events, dances, alternative entertainment activities and other youth activities; provide information and assistance to facility patrons.
- Develop survey instruments; conduct surveys of program participants to determine needs; interpret and record survey results; implement program changes in response to results.
- Maintain records and develop reports concerning new or ongoing programs and program effectiveness; maintain and file youth progress reports; prepare statistical reports as required.
- Maintain awareness of new developments in the field of youth counseling; incorporate new developments into programs as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in public administration, social work, psychology, education, or other related field.
EXPERIENCE
Two years of increasingly responsible experience as a youth program manager or supervisor,
or
Two years’ experience in youth related programming in a school district or other relative experience with development, implementation, and analysis of community-based programs.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Possession of a valid driver's license.
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday - Friday 8:am - 5:00 pm; including occasional nights and weekends.
