The EMS Specialist supports the Maricopa Fire and Medical Departments

- **Billing and Compliance:**
- Review and analyze ambulance transport reports for billing and
demographic, insurance, and medical information.
- Oversee the processing of reports for third-party billing and
regulations.
- Act as the primary liaison with third-party billing and
resolving billing disputes.
- **Quality Assurance and Training:**
- Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with
regulatory requirements.
- Analyze data trends and identify areas for improvement in
- Develop and deliver training programs for new hires on billing
- Coordinate with the Data & Technology Division to create reports
- Provide clinical and operational support to EMTs and paramedics,
- Leadership and Administrative Support:
- Facilitate monthly and quarterly training sessions on federal

**Education and Experience**
- Associates degree
- 2 years of experience in EMS billing or clinical roles, with a
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance billing
**Licenses or Certifications**
- Certification as a Nationally Certified Ambulance Coder (NAAC) or
- Current AZ Paramedic Certification or higher-level provider
- Instructor Certifications within 1 year of hire (ALCS, CPR)
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelors degree in a related field (EMS, Nursing or Administrative)
Knowledge Of
