HOURS:
8:00AM – 4:00PM, Tuesday - Saturday (days off are Sunday & Monday). Overtime hours as needed.
Training will be Monday – Friday for an undetermined amount of time.
SALARY:
$2,226.84 - $2,561.67 bi-weekly
DESCRIPTION:
Incumbent serves as Laboratory Technician for Lafayette Renew, responsible for performing a variety of
precise chemical and physical wastewater analysis from samples collected by treatment plant operators
and the City’s industrial surveillance monitoring program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Associates Degree in science or related field and experience in wastewater treatment or laboratory
facility, or equivalent combination of training and/or work experience.
- Prepares reagents for testing, performing experiments under sterile conditions, using various types of
laboratory testing meters, and preparing various reports and graphs.
- Collects samples from various plant processes, and samples from liquid wastewater hauler trucks.
- Performs activities relevant to laboratory testing such as sample bottle preparation, bottle washing,
clean up, labeling.
- Assists in maintaining quality control records and chain of custody procedures. Assist in oversight for
QA/QC samples and tests.
- Assists in writing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures according to law.
- Must Possess a valid Indiana Driver’s License and have demonstrated a safe driving record.
