HOURS:
8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday, serves 24-hour on-call for emergencies
SALARY:
$ 3,066.23 - $ 3,532.66 bi-weekly
Incumbent works as Chief of Operations for Lafayette Renew, responsible for the overall management of the
process operation and supervision of staff.
DUTIES:
- Supervises overall efficient operation of the area’s activities.
- Attends various meetings as required.
- Serves as a representative of the City for various functions and as a resource to the Superintendent.
- Reviews plans and projects, make calculations, determines quality and quantity estimates, writes
- Responds to customer complaints.
- Organizing field crew’s work for the day, answering their questions and reviewing status of projects
currently in progress. Trains and evaluates personnel in operations area. Provides direction to staff
while promoting a teamwork environment.
- Performs set up of new projects and analytical tests for design, including surveying personnel,
- Possession of a valid Indiana driver’s license and demonstrated safe driving record.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• Associates Degree required or equivalent combination of training and/or work experience or related
work. Possession of and ability to maintain State of Indiana Department of Environmental Management
Class IV Municipal Wastewater Treatment Certification.
- Thorough knowledge of treatment processes and principles needed to manage field crew.
- Thorough knowledge of local sewer ordinances, state and federal requirements, as well as departmental
- Thorough knowledge of wastewater treatment principles required for preparing, reviewing, calculating,
and adjusting plans for operation of WWTP.
