What are the responsibilities and job description for the Horticulture Laborer, Seasonal Extended Summer position at City of Kirkwood?
Our horticultural staff is responsible for planting and caring for the flowers, trees, and shrubs through the City of Kirkwood's park system. It will require .the safe operation of a variety of hand and power tools, small equipment, and pickup truck used in grounds maintenance. This position lasts from mid-May through mid-October.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to carry out oral and written instructions.
- Ability to courteously and professionally interact with the public.
- Must be able to perform heavy physical labor in all weather conditions.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Works primarily outdoors in all weather conditions. Exposure to heat, rain, dust and physical hazards associated with working in this environment. Potential Exposure to pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. Use and training of safe methods of application for pesticides to control invasive and other undesirable plant material. SALARY: $15.00 per hour. Position is open until filled.
