What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Aid position at City of Idaho Falls?
The City of Idaho Falls is currently accepting applications for Recreation Aid. Under close to general supervision, these positions provide entry level support in assisting field and program personnel and/or provide general instruction to recreation program participants.
Positions in these categories are typically part-time and/or seasonal in nature.

Recreation Program Instruction
Instruct program participants in such areas as volleyball, disc golf, baseball, basketball, football, tennis, and other recreation or leisure-oriented activity.
Recreation Program Assistance
Perform in one or more of the following recreation program areas:
(1) field/gym/fitness room monitoring;
(2) coaching/officiating youth and/or adult programs; and
(3) score keeping youth and/or adult programs;
(4) assisting supervisor with organizing and conducting special athletic events and recreational programs.Sufficient education and training to demonstrate an ability or aptitude to perform the above and related duties. Previous experience and/or involvement in recreation programs, coaching, or officiating preferred.
Final candidates may be subject to a background check prior to employment.
Tasks require a variety of physical activities generally involving muscular strain. Physical demands may occur in activities related to walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, running, jumping, etc. Talking, hearing and seeing required in the daily performance of job duties. Occasional exposure to environmental hazards resulting from working in a recreational environment. Mental application utilizes memory for details, emotional stability and discriminating thinking and creative problem solving. Position may require prolonged hours in the sun and/or in a gym setting.
