To ensure that the wastewater collection system is kept running efficiently and to prevent major problems that would affect the community. Duties will include regularly driving and ensuring proper maintenance of lift stations, manholes, and the collection system.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Checks all manholes daily throughout town to ensure they are running properly.
- Lift stations are checked daily to ensure they are running properly and, if needed, light maintenance is performed.
- Unstops sewers and manholes as needed.
- Assists in laying and repairing of sewer lines.
- Assists in replacing sewer tapping saddles when needed.
- Mows areas around lift stations and water towers.
- Does smoke testing throughout entire city to ensure proper condition of the sewer lines.
- Assist with bleeding and opening of fire hydrants.
- Maintains a safe working environment by using appropriate personal protective equipment and observing safety procedures.
- Assist in connecting and disconnecting water service at residential and commercial properties when needed.
- Assist in traffic control as needed, flagging, and putting up barricades.
- Performs other such duties as may be assigned.
