Essential Duties & Responsabilities
- Performs typical maintenance task to support the assembly floor and the entire facility.
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machinery and the building or grounds as required.
- Must be able to perform but not limited to the following skills: plumbing, electrical (assist the facilities electrician), machine repair, plant layout, and janitorial.
- Required to be familiar with and use all hand tools and power tools common to the skills listed and be well versed in the disciplines mention above.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings, sketches, OEM instructions and specifications.
- Must feel comfortable with working in a team environment and outside contractors.
- Required to use considerable judgment when performing and planning to perform his/her tasks.
- Must be familiar with the waste water system
- Must have a good work history and attendance record
- Must have a history of safe work practices
- Must be familiar with plant safety polices
- Must assist in Dewatering Room
- Must able to check and repair pumps
- Must replace gear oil when necessary
- Must be able to perform all maintenance required in wastewater department
- Must obey all USDA, HACCP, and PLANT rules and regulations including safety
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision
- Training requirements: General safety, Lock-Out-Tag-Out, HAZMAT
- Physical demands: some heavy lifting and considerable moving of equipment required; lifting objects up to 70 lbs.
- High School / GED or tech school education.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments, and shop environments.
- Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
