JOB SUMMARY
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Makes customer service a priority; is the front-line person in assisting customers.
- Sets up new and transfer water accounts, disconnects services, and sends service requests through service orders.
- Receives payments from customers, posts payments to accounts via computer terminal and/or automated document processor (scanner).
- Responds to customer inquiries at the counter, drive thru, telephone and via e-mail. Prepares informational hand outs and payment extensions for customers.
- Balances cash drawers and processes cash collected on a daily basis and in a timely manner.
- Processes incoming mail payments, night drop payments, payments through remit, money and receipts from other city departments, and bank deposit payments.
- Processes returned mail by documenting the account, updating information as necessary, and contacting the accountholder.
- Saves daily receipt registers to the server.
- Enters and submits for review all adjusting entries to the general ledger.
- Responsible for filing various documents to include journal entry backup, payment coupons, refund information, correspondence, and reports.
- Assists with the creation of reports, tables, and spreadsheets, as necessary.
- Provides clerical support, administrative support and filing to other Finance (Utility Administration) staff and distributes mail within the department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Daily attendance and promptness are required. Normal business hours are – Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
