As a Heavy Equipment Operator with the City of Greensboro, you’ll play a key role in the construction and maintenance of our Water and Sewer systems. You’ll safely and effectively operate a variety of equipment, including backhoes, skid steer loaders, track loaders, large excavators, and dump trucks. Compensation and Benefits:
Hiring Salary Range: $48,438. - $55,358. Full Salary Range: $40,453 - $72,390. Annually

Work Schedule:
Monday -Thursday, 4 days per week (10 hours per day)
6:15am-4:45pm

- Work in all weather conditions and be prepared for physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure our services are always available when needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/ GED
- "OR" an equivalency of 5 years of "directly related" heavy equipment operator experience
- 1 years of heavy equipment experience
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Experience Operating 2 and 4-lever backhoes ( *Must indicate backhoe types on application)
- Forklift License ('OR" the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Welding Experience or Welding Certification
