About the RoleThe Administrative Support (Temporary) position provides essential clerical and customer service support for the Code Compliance Division. This team is responsible for enforcing housing, commercial, and zoning standards that protect public safety and neighborhood quality of life.
In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for residents and internal staff, ensuring accurate data entry, timely communication, and responsive service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Enter incoming complaints into the department’s tracking system with accuracy and timeliness.
- Respond to public records requests in accordance with City policies and procedures.
- Assist walk-in customers with questions related to residential, commercial, and zoning compliance.
- Prepare and distribute notices related to code violations.
- Process documentation for the release of impounded vehicles.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to division staff.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- One (1) year of clerical or administrative support experience.
- Experience handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Office Administration, Business, or a related field.
- Two (2) or more years of administrative experience in a government or code compliance environment.
- Knowledge of municipal code enforcement, zoning procedures, or commercial compliance processes.
- Experience with customer requests or records management systems.
- Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish/English).
