Work Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, Monday – Sunday, not to exceed 1,000 hours in a year. Schedules may vary due to work site and operational needs.
Primary Duties/Brief Description of Work:
The employee in this position will operate a fee computer (cash register), collect parking fees, make simple change, process monthly parking space leasing in the deck and/or city-owned surface lots, balance funds collected vs. tickets issued, prepare daily work records and bank deposits, troubleshoot parking deck equipment and make appropriate repairs. This individual will assist the parking deck supervisor in completing paperwork, processing monthly billing, monthly sign-ups/cancellations, and other duties as assigned. Responsibilities also include janitorial duties, cleaning elevators, stair landings, lobby areas, office areas, and restrooms in the deck. This employee will interact with the public and must have good public relations skills. The employee in this position will be trained to troubleshoot parking deck equipment, which includes ticket spitters, gate equipment, cash registers, etc. The physical duties of the job involve stooping, bending, and extensive walking. This employee will also be responsible for the pre-treatment of parking decks and lots as well as snow removal during inclement weather and any other duties as assigned.
This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2 years of previous cashier experience
- 2 years of customer service experience
An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience working in a parking deck/lot operations
- Prior work experience with computers (i.e. data entry, use of Microsoft software)
