The City of Green Bay's Police Department is seeking part-time Community Service Officers to provide essential support to the Police Department by assisting staff with a variety of paraprofessional tasks. Responsibilities include directing traffic, preparing reports, security at City Hall, performing security checks at City buildings and parks, and responding to animal calls. Work is performed under the general supervision of the on-duty supervisor or a Police Officer.Successful candidates will possess conflict resolution skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to multi-task.Work Schedule: Minimum of 15 hours/week; maximum of 30 hours/week. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Respond to non-emergency calls such as abandoned vehicles, parking complaints, theft reports, and lost property.Provide traffic control at crash scenes, special events, and during emergencies.Provide security for City Hall during hours of business.Complete security checks of City owned property by checking doors and perimeter checks.Conduct neighborhood and park patrols to identify and report ordinance violations or safety concerns.Assist with animal control and pet licensing enforcement.Support community engagement initiatives, including presentations and neighborhood meetings.Prepare accurate reports and documentation for assigned calls.Participate in crime prevention programs and assist with public education efforts.Maintain professional communication with community members, businesses and city departments. Perform other duties as assigned.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Basic computer proficiency for report writing and data entry. Ability to learn and apply city ordinances and city/department policies and procedures.Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.Ability to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
