What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Assistant Golf Professional position at City of Garden City (KS)?
The 2nd Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for the support of the Head Golf Professional, helping to promote golf while promoting Buffalo Dunes itself. Assist in the Golf Shop operations, golf tournaments, tee times, and teaching as required.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Proven leadership, reputation for quality and attention to detail.
Education, Certification, and Experience:
Four-year undergraduate degree preferred, but not required. Minimum one year as golf professional preferred. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license. High school diploma or GED is required.
- Assist with golf tournament activities
- Help maintain a neat and clean Golf Shop. Keep counter area neat, clean, and well organized. Vacuum shop as needed throughout the day.
- Assist with retail activities including, but not limited to: Conducting sales, pricing merchandise.
- Must demonstrate a positive attitude and maintain a presentable appearance at all times.
- Play golf course and maintain proficiency in the game.
- Help manage and maintain the handicap system of the club.
- Thoroughly understand overall operations
- Issue golf carts to players, give instructions, as well as collect fees for play.
- Supervises play in accordance with club rules.
- Golf cart fleet management and limited maintenance.
- Teaches the game of golf to wide range of patrons.
- Enforce dress code established by Buffalo Dunes Golf course.
- Ensure all communications with members are respectful and professional.
