Job Responsibilities

Under the general direction of the Street Supervisor; incumbent performs skilled work in operating; street sweeper and other heavy; automotive and specialized street maintenance and construction equipment. Work involves responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment used in the maintenance of City streets and other types of construction. Performs semi-skilled tasks during slack or seasonal periods in operating front-end loaders; heavy trucks and other units to assist various departments for the graveling of parking lots; cleaning of drainages; cutting of weeds and trees; etc. Performs minor repairs; maintains and services assigned equipment. Performs some or all of the duties of a Street Laborer as required or assigned including snow removal and equipment operation. Required to perform emergency call back duties; outside the normal working hours; weekends and Holidays; and must respond within thirty (30) minutes to call our. Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Information:

STARTING HOURLY PAY: $19.87 p/h

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent, (GED)
• Two (2) years of experience in operating heavy construction or stationary equipment or an equivalent combination of experience and training
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) (state of residence) with Medical Card that meets City’s insurability requirements
