Engineering Representative I 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday (hours may vary) | Full-time

What You'll Do
You'll be the go-to support for Development Services - helping residents, contractors, and developers navigate water and sewer permits, fees, and utility requirements while keeping projects compliant, organized, and on track. If you like a mix of customer service, technical coordination, and behind-the-scenes problem solving, this role offers variety and impact every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Support customers and contractors by answering inquiries and guiding them through permitting and utility processes
- Process fees, contracts, service orders, and daily cash reconciliations accurately
- Coordinate permits, inspections, developer agreements, and project documentation
- Maintain and digitize records in systems like Accela and GIS to keep projects organized and compliant
- Collaborate with engineering staff and City departments to resolve issues and keep projects moving forward
What You Bring | Education & Experience
- Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Technology, or related field required; Bachelor's preferred
- Relevant experience may substitute for education
- Experience in permitting, utilities, construction support, public works, or municipal services is a plus
- Strong customer service and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred Certifications
- Valid Indiana Driver's License (if operating a City vehicle)
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with systems such as Accela, GIS/ArcMap, Application Xtender, or similar permitting/database tools
- Ability to interpret regulations, technical documents, and property records
