The Community Services Department seeks a Bilingual Part-Time Administrative Aide (Call Center).

This Administrative Aide position supports the Community Services Department by performing administrative services and handling a high volume of calls. Tasks include but are not limited to tracking and compiling information of interest, preparing various reports detailing information, reading and answering correspondence, customer service, and sometimes handling confidential information.

The schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (Wednesdays and weekends off) from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Please do not apply if you are not available to work these part-time hours.


This is a Non-classified "at-will" position and not subject to Civil Service Rules or any collective bargaining agreement.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Answering a high volume of telephone calls and assisting customers in English and Spanish
Computer, Administrative and Customer Service Work


JOB REQUIREMENTS, PREFERENCES & WORK ENVIRONMENT

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
  • Three (3) years of face-to-face and/or telephone customer service experience
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish needed to assist customers
  • Must be available to work Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
  • If claiming Veteran's Preference, candidates must attach a DD214 Member 4 form, and the City of Fort Lauderdale's veteran's preference claim form (J-204).to the online application.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Experienced with most office equipment such as computer, copy machine, scanner, multi-line telephones

As public servants, employees may be required to work immediately before, during, and/or after an emergency. All employees must be available and able to work assigned shifts as determined by their Department Heads.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The position is generally sedentary. Employees sit most of the time but may walk or stand for brief periods of time.
