Job Summary

Work related to supporting general business operations at the City.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.

  • Maintains effective office systems and procedures, including supply inventory.
  • Provides customer service for internal customers and community, including explanation and interpretation of policies and procedures, in person and via telephone.
  • May support all programs with the City Clerk’s Office as needed: City Council Support, Regulatory Licensing, Records Program, Boards and Commissions, Elections
  • Enters data, compiles records and reports; tabulates or posts data; maintain databases.
  • Compiles and organizes materials for City Clerk programs and/or special projects.
  • Provides clerical support including preparing or answering correspondence;
  • Open and route incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail.
  • May provide basic financial support through fee collection, data entry and tracking.
  • Acts as liaison to other City offices.
  • May administer document and record management systems.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

  • Ability to understand a total process flow and ensure that all details of a task are accomplished properly.
  • Basic understanding of finance or budget management processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work under moderate supervision and to exercise independent judgement as required.

MinimumPreferred

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

College degree or equivalent work experience. Some positions may require functionally related certification or advanced degrees College or technical school level coursework in business, or finance (Associates degree preferred)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of three to five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
