The purpose of this job is to perform skilled and lead work involving the maintenance and repair of a city plant. Troubleshoots and diagnoses mechanical defects and repairs equipment in safe and efficient manner. Ensuring proper operation of the repaired equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. - Oversees, assists, and performs preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair work on plant equipment, building, plumbing, and electrical fixtures.
- Performs lead work directing and overseeing work assignments and ensuring work quality
- Monitors and maintains inventory and supplies.
- Provides guidance, training and assistance to less experienced employees.
- Participates in upgrading of plant equipment.
- Orders necessary parts and materials necessary for plant and building equipment
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- No supervisory authority. Work requires providing guidance and training to others. This position may oversee work quality, training, instructions, and work assignments.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of experience in mechanical maintenance and repair.
Licenses or Certifications
- Valid driver’s license.

- Safety standards, practices, and procedures pertaining to plant maintenance and repair work.
- Standard practices, methods, materials, tools, and equipment of one or more trades.
- Common business software applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.

- Maintaining attention to detail.
- Conducting electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing repair and maintenance.
