Description / Position Overview

Grants Analyst II - Finance

About the Job: In this role, you will assisting in the facilitation, acceptance, and tracking of grants used by the City of Colorado Springs in addition to other tasks as assigned by the Grants Manager.

Job Type: Full Time

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (8 hours per day)

Work Location: City Administration Building (30 S Nevada Ave. Colorado Springs, CO 80903)

This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year, and any furloughs subsequently approved.

As An Analyst II, You Will

  • Perform all functions of grant management for externally funded grant awards
  • Support the pre-award function and application development
  • Facilitate the acceptance of grant awards
  • Prepare, analyze, and/or audit financial records and documents
  • Maintain and update data in PeopleSoft Grants and other related modules
  • Monitor grant revenues and expenditures; ensure transactions are properly recorded in the City’s financial accounting system
  • Research and analyze data for accuracy, trends, and variances to ensure City practices and procedures have been followed; ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations
  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, or annual grant reports and/or requests for reimbursements
  • Analyze grant budgets; set up appropriate line items for compatibility with accounting systems; and analyze and maximize the utilization of grant funds
  • Assist with other grant related projects as needed

We Are Looking For Candidates Who Demonstrate

  • Knowledge of the methods and techniques of data collection, research, and report preparation
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of grants administration
  • Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret complex information and data
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a related area of study.
  • Three years of full-time, professional experience in a related field.

  • Experience managing federal, state and private grants
  • Experience managing Housing and Urban Development funding
