What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Basketball Official position at City of Cape Girardeau?
General Definition of Work
Position responsible for officiating of youth and adult basketball leagues and tournaments offered by the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department up to and including:
- Men’s Basketball League
- Girls & Boys Youth Basketball Leagues
- Girls & Boys Summer Junior High & High School Basketball Leagues
- Jr. NBA Basketball League
Essential Functions
- Be at assigned game sites at least fifteen minutes before scheduled game time.
- Conduct all pre and post game duties (meet team captains/coaches, rule interpretations, game summary sheets).
- Officiate games and enforce the rules of the game.
- Ensure the safety of all participants.
- Secure hazardous-free playing area.
- Conduct yourself in a respectful, confident, and secure manner.
