What You Will Do

This seasonal position oversees the Aquatics facilities, ensuring daily maintenance, chemical testing, and logging into Digiquatics. The role includes coordinating and supervising equipment setup and takedown for classes, programs, rentals, and special events. Responsibilities also include monitoring staff performance, addressing customer service issues, and managing mechanical or staff concerns in the absence of Directors. Additional duties involve custodial tasks, equipment care, inventory management, safety programs, routine facility inspections, and janitorial functions. The position assists with staff planning, training, and fills in for absent staff as needed.

Work Schedule

Rotating work schedule, up to 40 hours a week, with other facility managers. Work hours are during the months of May through September from 8 am to 8 pm 7 days a week.Leadership & Environment Management:

  • Foster a Safe Environment: Ensure a secure, welcoming space for staff and patrons at all times.
  • Staff Accountability: Hold team members accountable for enforcing rules, meeting responsibilities, and addressing patron needs attentively.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee daily checklists to ensure seamless and efficient operations.

Administrative Duties:

  • Paperwork Management: Maintain accurate records, including accident/incident reports, chemical logs, and deposit documentation.
  • Check-In Oversight: Manage weekly camp check-ins and weekend party check-ins for smooth scheduling and coordination.
  • Performance Documentation: Issue coaching forms to uphold and improve staff performance standards.

Staff Training & Development:

  • Staff Training: Train and mentor new team members to ensure alignment with safety protocols and customer service expectations.
  • In-Service Development: Lead and support in-service training sessions to enhance team skills and readiness.

Patron Safety & Service:

  • Swim Tests: Conduct swim tests to assess participants’ safety and skill levels.
  • Customer Service Focus: Prioritize exceptional customer service while maintaining safety across all facilities.

Versatile Support:

  • Flexible Role: Step into any position as needed, including WSI, Lifeguard, or Receptionist, to support operations.
  • Front Desk Assistance: Assist with front desk duties to ensure efficient and smooth operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expert in pool chemistry to maintain optimal water quality and safety.
  • Skilled in managing and motivating staff, ensuring smooth operations and team cohesion.
  • Experienced in customer service, delivering a welcoming and positive experience for all patrons.
  • Efficient multitasker, able to handle various duties while ensuring high-quality results.
  • Strong leadership abilities, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Responsive to direction, able to carry out tasks and instructions from supervisors with accuracy.
  • Proficient in cash handling and managing register transactions.
  • Keen eye for facility needs, promptly identifying and reporting issues to supervisors for timely resolution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to and from work
  • One to two years’ experience working in aquatics (or customer service)

Special Requirements:

  • CPO certified (or ability to achieve)
  • CPR PRO and First Aid certified (or ability to achieve)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPO certified (or ability to achieve)
  • CPR and First Aid certified (or ability to achieve)
  • Lifeguard Certification (or ability to achieve)
  • Lifeguard Instructor Certification (or ability to achieve)
  • Water Safety Instructor Certification (or ability to achieve)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Work typically involves the ability to physically perform the basic life operational functions of stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
  • Work necessitates visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • The employee is subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, oils, noise, extreme heat and vibration.
  • The employee is in contact with potentially infectious bodily fluids during the performance of duties such as when providing first aid care and facility cleaning.
  • Working conditions include both inside and outside environmental conditions.
