Lake Mackintosh Park & Marina, established in 1993, serves as Burlington's primary water reservoir, spanning over 1,150 acres with 61 miles of shoreline. Fed by the Greater and Little Alamance Creeks, the lake is well-stocked for fishing. Located on Huffman Mill Road, the park provides amenities for anglers, paddlers, and visitors seeking recreational activities.
What you will do:
An employee in this class is responsible for assisting in the operations of the marina and for some maintenance of the grounds at Lake Mackintosh in Burlington.
This is a part-time with retirement position which requires weekday and weekend hours, including holidays and weekends. This position requires 1500 hours per calendar year.
- Guest Services: Explain lake rules and regulations to patrons while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Fee Collection: Manage the collection and accurate accounting of fees for entry, rentals, and facilities.
- Facility Rentals: Oversee the rental process for fishing boats, kayaks, canoes, rowboats, shelters, and the clubhouse.
- Park Patrols: Conduct regular hourly checks of the park, including bank fishing areas and picnic zones, to address issues promptly.
- Facility Upkeep: Maintain restrooms, picnic areas, and playgrounds to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
- Cleaning Duties: Clean and maintain the clubhouse, open-air shelters, and walkways (including blowing debris).
- Boat Maintenance: Assist with the use and cleaning of rental boats, ensuring they are in proper condition. Able to walk up and down steps, able to get rental boats out for rentals and put back in storage.
- Trash Management: Regularly inspect the park for litter and empty trash receptacles as needed.
- Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
- Must posses valid driver license
- Some experience with boats or maintenance procedures.
