What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Community Landscaper position at CITY OF BRUSH?
General Statement of Duties: Performs a variety of unskilled tasks at the entry level under the Recreation Department. This employee will be under the Director of Community Services. This position will be from mid-April through September.

Duties will include Landscaping various areas of town, trimming and mowing of City areas as assigned.
Operates light equipment such as pickup truck, mowers, small dump truck or similar equipment.
Assists with planting and maintaining trees and shrubs within the community, performs general cleanup and beautification around the City of Brush.
Paint designated curbing areas
Performs general routine maintenance and updates as needed.
Does related work as required.
Job Requirements and Difficulty of Work:
Knowledge of equipment, material and practices used in park maintenance, construction and repair.
Ability to work on your own as projects are directed.
Knowledge of applicable safety rules and procedures. Ability to understand and follow spoken instructions.
Ability to operate light equipment such as mowers and/or pickup trucks.
Ability to use and learn the proper use of power equipment as well as tools such as shovels, hoes, weed trimmers.
Ability to follow complex oral and written directions.
Ability to maintain basic records on work activities, work schedule.
Ability to work with other departments if needed and as assigned.
Must have valid Colorado driver's license.
The employee shall work well under pressure, meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.
The employee shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
Physical Effort and Work Environment:
The job’s physical demand requirements place the position in the Heavy category according to the U.S. Dept of Labor’s Dictionary of Occupational Titles, Volume II, Fourth Edition, Revised 1991.
Requires climbing, sitting and overhead reaching occasionally (up to 33% of the time).
Requires squatting, crawling, stooping, kneeling and carrying frequently (34%-66% of the time). Requires standing, walking, angular reaching, wrist flexion/extension, elbow flexion/extension, supination/pronation and grasping constantly (67%-100% of the time).
Must be able to pull 98 pounds 15 ft on an occasional basis. Must be able to overhead push 8 pounds on a frequent basis.
Must be able to carry painting supplies, shovel, rake, hose, cleaning supplies and various hand tools on a constant basis.
Must be able to carry 60 pounds approximately 5 ft. on an occasional basis.
Must be able to lift 60 pounds from ground level to 42 inches occasionally; 62 pounds from ground level to 42 inches occasionally; 75 pounds from ground level to 38 inches occasionally.
Must be able to lift 12 pounds from waist level to overhead and back down occasionally at a rate of approximately 60 times per minute.
Exposed to outdoor weather conditions, temperature changes, wet or humid conditions not related to weather, noise, confined spaces, fumes/dust/dirt and vibrations.
Must be able to perform in adverse weather conditions.
Must be able to work at moderate to extreme heights in trees and with aerial equipment.
High School education or equivalent preferred but not required.
This position is for 18 years or older
Experience:
Landscaping and handyman experience preferred.
