Job Overview

Duties

• Perform lawn care activities including mowing, edging, fertilizing, and aerating to ensure healthy and attractive turf.
• Maintain landscapes by pruning trees, trimming shrubs, and performing tree care to promote safety and aesthetic appeal.
• Operate hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, and hoes efficiently and safely for planting, weeding, and soil preparation.
• Utilize power tools including trimmers, blowers, hedge cutters, and excavators for various landscaping projects.
• Install hardscape features such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other construction elements to enhance outdoor spaces.
• Manage irrigation systems by installing new setups or repairing existing systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns.
• Conduct seasonal snow plowing operations to keep pathways clear during winter months.
• Support garden maintenance activities like planting flowers, shrubs, and trees while applying horticultural best practices.
• Assist with landscape design projects by interpreting plans and executing tasks with precision and creativity.

Requirements

• Proven mechanical knowledge related to landscaping equipment and tools.
• Experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, or gardening is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery such as excavators is essential.
• Knowledge of horticulture principles including plant health, soil management, and pest control.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy materials, bending, digging, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong understanding of landscape construction techniques including hardscape installation.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety protocols during operation of equipment like snow plows or tree trimming tools.
