Summary Statement
The Energize Our Neighborhoods Assistant provides support to the Office of Community Engagement with a primary focus on safely towing and transporting the Block Party Trailer to neighborhood and community events. This role plays a key part in advancing community engagement efforts by ensuring event materials are delivered, set up, and ready to support outreach activities.
In addition to trailer transport, the position assists with on-site event support, program logistics, and general coordination to help create positive and effective community experiences.
This is a seasonal, part-time position running from June 1st through October 30th, working up to 19 hours per week. The role requires regular evening and weekend availability to align with community event schedules. The position operates under immediate/direct supervision and is designated as At-Will.
Essential Functions
Transports the Block Party Trailer to and from neighborhood event sites which includes towing a trailer to and from Boise neighborhoods. (30%)
Set up and tear down of city booth, including carrying tables, chairs, shade tent and weights, and any additional materials for the event set up and tear down. (20%)
Supports city-hosted events such as First Thursday, community booths and similar activities, serving as a friendly professional point of contact at events, accompanied by other city staff. (20%)
Conducts inventory checks before and after each use. Including cleaning, organizing and maintaining all trailer equipment and supplies. (10%)
Provides basic instruction on use of trailer supplies. (10%)
Total Percentage = 90%

Requirements
Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
Experience in customer or community service and experience towing a trailer.
Knowledge of: professional business office practices; community engagement techniques and strategies; and computer usage including related software.
Ability to: safely operate a city vehicle with towed trailer; navigate to various areas of the city; complete assignments in a timely fashion; professionally represent the city; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; and perform all essential functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without reasonable accommodation.
Individuals must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record.
Licensing And Other Requirements
Valid state-issued driver’s license.

Employees will also drive a vehicle as part of this position. Traffic while driving, some parking areas are in residential streets that could have other hazards like uneven walkways
